Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear for my dance lessons?
Anything that is comfortable and allows freedom of movement. In terms of footwear, you might find it easier to wear what you would normally wear, when you go out social dancing. Trainers (sneakers) are not generally recommended unless for a Zumba Fitness Classes as they are difficult to spin in. Stileetos and black, rubber soled shoes are not permitted as they damage and mark when dancing on the hardwood floors.

Will I need a partner to take dance lessons?
No. Most students in our group classes are primarily single, and partners are rotated throughout the class if needed. However, it is cheaper to come as a couple... make sure you are aware of the cheaper sign-up price, if you bring a partner with you!

Is learning to dance difficult?
Dancing can be quite easy to learn. Like most new things, it may take time to master but our instructors make learning as easy as possible and fun. A steady approach with practice and regular attendance will produce results in a short period.

Am I too old to learn to dance?
Anyone who is able to walk can dance! Our students range in age from 15-70. Moving to the beat and co-ordinating with your partner are things that are easily learned at any age, although dancing is something that many people choose to begin later in life when they have more time for a new hobby.

How long does it take to learn how to dance?
It really depends on the individual. Everyone can work at their own pace and at the schoolo, we will try to accommodate your every need.

I am very shy and am afraid that I will feel self conscious about dancing. Is thisnormal?

Everyone, including our professional instructors, started from the beginning. Each time a new student begins their lessons, we remember what our first lessons were like. There is absolutely no reason to feel self conscious. Our programmes are designed to gradually allow you to express your new-found freedom on the dance floor! Take it at your own pace, you will soon feel comfortable and more confident!

How often should I take dance lessons?
This is entirely up to you. The average student takes about 2 lessons with us per week, obviously the more lessons you take the cheaper the class costs and the quicker you will progress. If you want to improve as quickly as possible then take advantage of our BEST OFFER which allows you to take 4 courses at the same time for the equivalent of just over £4 per class. You'll be improving 4 times quicker than the others who just take 1 course at a time!

What is a ROC?
A Roll Over Credit (ROC) is gladly given to those students who paid the full course fee, but who for whatever reason cancelled at least 24hours before the commencement date. You can use your ROC on future course dates instead. ROCs can also be given as gifts to a friend or family member so they can try out our courses too. Great for unusual birthday, wedding or Christmas gifts, you can buy for an individual or a couple, a fantastic present that I bet no one else will have thought of getting! ROC's are valid for 6 months from the date of issue. You can ask for a 100% ROC when cancelling at least 24 hours before your course starts. After a course starts or during the 24 hours prior to a course starting, partial ROC's may be given at the management’s discretion upon request.

Will I have a good teacher?
Yes. All our instructors are very talented, qualified, and most of all friendly and helpful. All of our teachers receive monthly training from Susana Montero and follow our syllabus to ensure an excellent standard of teaching. The teachers are usually rotated on a regular basis, so you get a taste of all we have to offer!

Why should I learn to dance?
Students have told us that besides learning to dance, they gain self confidence, higher self esteem, improved posture and gain new friends socially, as well as a multitude of health benefits. Each person finds that dancing has helped them in different ways.
